MARIETTA, Okla. (KXII) - A Love County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested Wednesday for child sexual abuse.

Court documents state Cody Seth Jones, 31, of Marietta, kissed the child in a lewd manner, and made her touch him inappropriately.

Jones has been a deputy at the Love County Sheriff’s office since mid April.

Jones is on administrative leave until the case is resolved, Love County Sheriff Marty Grisham told News 12.

District Attorney Craig Ladd told News 12 the charging document spoke for itself.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations is leading the case. News 12 reached out Thursday morning but did not hear back.

Court records show Jones made his first court appearance Wednesday. If he’s found guilty, he faces anywhere from a year in the county jail up to life in prison, and possibly a fine between $500 and $5,000.

Bail has been set at $100,000, which Jones posted the day of his arrest.

Jones was also ordered to stay away from the victim.
